Prepared For Himalayan Roads
We partner with authorised premium motorcycle fleet providers in Leh to ensure every rider receives a reliable and professionally maintained adventure motorcycle.
Before every expedition, each motorcycle is thoroughly inspected and serviced to ensure it is ready for the challenging conditions of Ladakh.
Commercial Registration
Every motorcycle is commercially registered and fully licensed for guided motorcycle expeditions.
Fully Serviced
Routine servicing and pre-departure inspections are completed before every expedition.
Daily Checks
Our guides perform daily visual inspections during the expedition to identify any issues before they become problems.
Mechanical Support
Essential tools, spare parts and roadside assistance accompany every ride, with backup motorcycles available for larger groups.
Who Can Ride?
To participate in one of our motorcycle expeditions, every rider must hold a valid motorcycle licence appropriate for the motorcycle being ridden.
You may ride using either:
- A valid Indian Motorcycle Driving Licence, or
- A valid International Driving Permit (IDP) together with your home country's motorcycle licence, where applicable.
Your licence must remain valid throughout the expedition and should permit you to ride motorcycles of the engine capacity supplied during your tour.
Need Advice?
If you're unsure whether your licence is accepted in India, contact us before booking and we'll gladly help you understand the requirements.
We Handle All The Paperwork
Many of Ladakh's most spectacular riding destinations—including Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Hanle and Tso Moriri—require government-issued Inner Line Permits.
You don't need to worry about arranging these yourself.
Permit Applications
Our team prepares and submits all required permit applications before your expedition begins.
Government Processing
We coordinate directly with the relevant local authorities so you don't have to navigate the paperwork.
Ready Before Departure
Your permits will be prepared and handed to you during the expedition briefing before the first riding day.
Passport Information
Simply provide the requested passport and visa details before arrival, and we'll take care of the rest.
One Less Thing To Worry About
Permit regulations occasionally change in Ladakh. We stay up to date with local requirements so you can focus on enjoying the journey instead of dealing with administration.
Travel Insurance Is Mandatory
Because our expeditions take place in the remote, high-altitude regions of the Indian Himalayas, every rider must arrange comprehensive travel insurance before arriving in Leh.
Choosing the right adventure travel insurance can sometimes be confusing. Before your expedition, we're happy to guide you towards insurance providers that typically offer suitable cover for Himalayan motorcycle travel.
While we cannot recommend a single insurer or sell insurance ourselves, we'll gladly explain the type of cover you should look for based on your itinerary.
We'll Help You Prepare
If you're unsure whether your existing policy is suitable, simply send it to us before your trip and we'll help you check whether it appears to cover the activities included in your expedition.
Motorcycle Riding
Your policy must specifically include motorcycle riding as a covered activity.
High Altitude
Coverage should include travel and riding up to 6,000 metres above sea level.
Emergency Evacuation
Your policy should include emergency helicopter evacuation and medical transportation where necessary.
Trip Protection
Trip cancellation, baggage cover and travel interruption insurance are highly recommended.
Choose The Protection That's Right For You
Every rider can choose one of two protection options before the expedition begins. Most international riders choose the Collision Damage Waiver for added peace of mind, while others prefer the standard refundable security deposit.
Collision Damage Waiver
€300One payment for the entire expedition.
- No refundable security deposit.
- Accidental motorcycle damage covered.
- Repair labour included.
- Replacement parts included.
- Greater peace of mind while riding.
Standard Security Deposit
€200 / ₹18,000Refundable after the expedition.
- Refundable damage deposit.
- Collected before motorcycle handover.
- Returned after motorcycle inspection.
- Repair costs deducted only if accidental damage occurs.
Collision Damage Waiver Explained
Our optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is designed for riders who prefer additional financial protection throughout the expedition.
It covers accidental damage to the rented motorcycle that may occur during normal participation in the guided expedition.
Included
- Body panels.
- Engine guards.
- Repair labour.
- Replacement motorcycle parts.
- Accidental structural damage.
Not Covered
- Reckless or dangerous riding.
- Alcohol or drug-related incidents.
- Intentional damage.
- Theft caused by negligence.
- Damage occurring outside the guided expedition.
Flexibility For Every Rider
Some riders prefer to minimise their initial travel costs by leaving a refundable security deposit, while others prefer the simplicity of comprehensive damage protection.
Both options allow you to enjoy exactly the same expedition, support and motorcycle. The only difference is how accidental motorcycle damage is handled.
Our Recommendation
For riders travelling internationally, we generally recommend the optional Collision Damage Waiver. It removes the need for a security deposit and allows you to focus entirely on enjoying your Himalayan adventure.
Ride With The Right Equipment
Protective riding equipment is essential for both safety and comfort while exploring the Himalayas.
If you've selected riding gear as part of your expedition package, your equipment will be professionally fitted and handed over during the expedition briefing before the first riding day.
If riding gear is not included in your booking, you'll need to bring your own suitable protective equipment.
We'll Provide
- Helmet
- Protective jacket
- Riding trousers
- Gloves
- Knee & elbow protection (where applicable)
If Not Included
- Approved motorcycle helmet.
- Protective riding jacket.
- Motorcycle gloves.
- Riding trousers.
- Suitable riding boots.
Need Advice?
Not sure what to pack? We'll send you a detailed packing list before your expedition and are always happy to answer questions about riding gear or recommended equipment.
Preparing for High Altitude
Our expeditions take place in one of the world's highest rideable regions, with several mountain passes exceeding 5,000 metres above sea level. Proper acclimatisation is essential for both your safety and enjoyment.
For this reason, we strongly recommend arriving in Leh at least two days before your expedition to allow your body to gradually adjust to the altitude.
Arrive Early
Spend at least two full days in Leh before the ride begins to reduce the risk of altitude sickness.
Oxygen Support
Emergency oxygen cylinders are carried throughout the expedition and are available whenever required.
Experienced Guides
Our guides monitor rider wellbeing throughout the expedition and will adjust the plan whenever safety requires it.
Emergency Coordination
If medical assistance becomes necessary, we'll coordinate with local medical services and support evacuation procedures where appropriate.
Safety Always Comes First
Every expedition is planned around rider safety rather than simply reaching a destination. Weather conditions, road closures, rider wellbeing and altitude all influence daily decisions made by our guides.
We reserve the right to modify routes, accommodation or riding schedules whenever necessary to ensure the safest possible experience for everyone.
We Never Rush The Mountains
The Himalayas reward patience. If changing conditions require a different route or schedule, those decisions are always made with rider safety as the highest priority.
